Spots needing attention around Bairnsdale
Active transport links for walkers, bike riders and mobility scooter riders. On the associated maps, taken from Google Maps, please note the following additions.
Bairnsdale - Top of Foards Hill
A connection is needed where the bike trail disappears before it meets the dual-use path.
The section needs protection for active transport users: more posts, a concrete barrier, or a no standing sign to prevent cars parking.
Bairnsdale - Riverine St
Safe pedestrian crossings are needed between McCulloch St and Service St. There are none.
Bullumwaal Rd, Wy Yung
Provide a safe dual-use path from the end of the service road at the west end of Wy Yung through to Lanteris Rd, and a small section between two service roads on the north side of Bullumwaal Rd in Wy Yung. These additional small sections will provide safe access to various minor roads and the new residential developments.
Bairnsdale - Under the Lind Bridge, north side
The track is badly washed out and is impassable for walkers after rain. This means there is no reasonable access to the walking track to the west on the north side of the river.
